While creating this work, I kept returning to a feeling I have experienced throughout my life: the strange realization that even when the mind is lost, something deeper still knows where to go.
In this painting, I work with fragments: fragmented figures, pieces of expression, and fluid layers of paint that never fully settle into a single image. They appear and disappear - rather than fixed forms. Painting becomes a space for what cannot be explained by the mind - only sensed by something beneath.
The soul knows it's way is about surrender. It is about trusting the deep inner knowing, and that what feels like falling into pieces, may be the beginning of becoming.
